Concerts SA suspends support to Hank’s Old Irish Pub in Cape Town with immediate effect

An incident at Hank’s Old Irish Pub in Cape Town last week raised serious allegations of racism against the venue and its owners.

The Concerts SA project and all its partners support diversity and distance themselves from any policies or practices that prejudice people based on race.

In light of these allegations, Concerts SA has suspended its support for Hank’s Old Irish Pub and all CSA concerts at the venue have been suspended until all of the various accusations have been investigated and a conclusion reached to the matter.

To minimise any effect on the artists and their audiences, concerts anticipated to be held at Hank’s will be shifted to alternative spaces within the city where possible. We will continue to monitor the situation for any further developments in this regard.
