The 1820 Settlers' National Monument is a South African cultural landmark  in the Eastern Cape. The Building has mulitlpe flexible spaces which can adapt to suit event requirements. The venue is fully licenced and has a fully equipped kitchen with multiple satelite catering facilites. Our key venues are: Guy Butler Theatre: Our flag ship venue has 900 seats,  a 17 x 12m stage full fly Tower and side stage. The venue is equipped with a basic PA,  and generic lighting rig, ideal for concerts, theatre, conferences, and graduations. Thomas Pringle:  Large hall that seats approximately 350 delegates cinema-style or 250 classroom-style; accommodating weddings and banquets for up to 200 people. The venue does not have a raised stage or permanent PA or lighting rig but mutliple venue set up options are available Fountain Foyer: This iconic space in the heart of the building offers a unique setting for intimate perfromances to audiences up to 200 people. The quadruple-volume space is dominated by the Yellowwood sculpture and surrounded by the Cecil Skotnes murals. Monument Restaurant:  The Resturant has stunning views over the Makanda landscape.  The space can accommodate 180 diners or 400 cocktail-style for weddings, banquets, and private parties.
